My Birthday in Palm Spring

We drove to Palm Springs so that we could spend my birthday with Sarah, Neil and Savannah. Couldn't have asked for a better birthday. I'm so lucky to not only have an amazing family, but such great friends. They snuck into our hotel room and decorated the entire room for when I entered. Check out all the bags of Flamin Hot Cheetos.....LOVE!! I'm a very lucky girl to have her as my friend. Sarah gave me a gift basket filled with all my favorite things....including an Edward Cullen mouse pad!!! Oh yeah, that's right!

Sydney and Savannah were tickled pink to see each other. There were lots of long hugs and constant hand holding.

Sydney was extremely impressed with Savannah's room. She walked in with her hand over her mouth gasping. Apparently I need to work on her room a little bit more.

We headed over to Peabody's Cafe, one of my favorite little cafe's in Palm Springs. Sydney was excited to have her usual, bagel with cream cheese and a side of bacon. Yum!

Watch out Sydney!! Dad's about to eat your bacon!!!!!

After breakfast, Sarah and I headed out to the infamous Premium Outlets where I tried to convince her (apparently not hard enough) to purchase some gorgeous Jimmy Choo's. Then Chris treated us both to mani and pedi's at the resorts spa. Then it was time to get ready for dinner. Reservations were made at Circa59 for a fabulous birthday dinner.

The fancier the restaurant, the longer it takes to eat. Poor Sydney was completely tuckered out by the time dessert came. Fear not, she sang "Happy birday toooo youuu. Happy birday to mommy, happy birday to youu" several times before she started to call it quits.

The next day we headed over to have cake brunch at Sarah's before we got on the road for vegas

Sydney having the time of her life with Savannah

An absolutely perfect birthday! Now off to Vegas

Sam & Lisa's Visit

Two of my girlfriends, who are both pregnant and due this Fall came for a visit from Sweet Home Chicago before they entered their "do not fly any longer" trimester. So much fun seeing friends from back home. We decided to do a pregnancy friendly activity and drive to the top of Mt. Lemmon. It's about a two hour drive all the way to the top with some amazing views and steep drop offs. Once we got to the top we had lunch at the Iron Door Restaurant located in Ski Valley. It's one of my favorite places to go in Tucson. You sit outside in the 70 degree weather and the back patio has hummingbird feeders every few feet. You just sit there, eat some amazing food (and pie), listen to the birds along with the whistling of the wind through the pine trees and have these amazing views of the mountain.

When Chris and I were dating we made this same drive up to Mt. Lemmon and rode the ski lifts to the top. Might have been the most terrifying experience in both of our lives...yet totally worth it once you get to the top of the mountain.

The cute pregnant girls Lisa and Sam. Miss you guys already!!!
