Last Minute Trip to Prescott

Chris headed to Chicago this weekend for the annual Guys Weekend where they pack in A LOT of golf, fishing and poker. Rather than stay home being bored, my parents moved into their new place in Prescott last week so Syd and I decided to crash in and check the place out! To say that Sydney loves the new place is an understatement. There are so many rooms for her to hide in and play. In fact, Sydney asked me if we could live there forever. So, I guess she likes it. :) I only took a few pictures, but I'm sure we'll be going up again soon!

Movie Night

We had Seamus over for a sleepover last weekend and decided to take the kids out for dinner and a movie. Seamus was soooo excited to see How to Train Your Dragon. We got our 3D glasses, popcorn, juice and headed into the theatre to pick out our seats! The movie was a little scary at times for the kids. Three potty breaks later and Seamus getting ready to pass out on my lap, the movie was over. I'm not quite sure why they haven't figured out how to make the 3D glasses a little more comfortable. Chris walked around with a huge red bump on his nose for three days from those babies.

2010 Spring Showcase: Gymnastics

Twice a year, Sydney's Gymnastics gym puts on a showcase for all their classes. They set up chairs in the large gym and parents along with friends and family are invited to come watch the kids perform. She loves going to gymnastics every week, so this was a fun little treat for her to have everyone watching her as she performed. They had treats for all the kids after the award ceremony as well. We love Tumbleweeds.

Saying Goodbye: Prescott Part 2

We decided to spend an extra night in Vegas, so we had to drive all the way home on Thursday instead of spending another night in Prescott. We still stopped at the house, picked up a few items we still had there, ate lunch and just enjoyed the scenery. Sydney and I sat on the front porch, listened to the trees and she threw rocks off the front porch. We enjoyed our last few moments there.

Sydney picking some rocks

The trees, the lovely lovey trees

Love

Telling me she wants to stay in Prescott forever.

Trying to get one lasting memory of the peacefulness this place brings me. You can hear the white noise of the wind in the trees and the birds chirping.

With tears in my eyes, I reluctantly said goodbye and closed the door for the last time. New memories to be made at the new house but we'll never forget our favorite cabin in the woods.

It's Vegas, Baby!

Oh how we love Las Vegas. The shopping, the lounging by the pool, the shopping, the fun hotel rooms, the shopping, the bloody mary's out by the pool and did I mention the shopping? It just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. We stayed at the MGM and the second day of the trip, Sydney and I started out the day by heading over to the casino to see the lions. Some reason the lions always seem to be laying on the tunnel. Only problem is, it's so covered in grime that you can barely see them!

My little punkin staring up at the lions

The Rain Forest Cafe is right next to the lions. We stopped over there to look at all the animals. Syd and I had dinner there the next day. She told me she likes elephants, but doesn't want to go near them, loves to watch the monkeys swing and scream, but hates the thunderstorm. She was petrified of this alligator.

Loving the fish tank

After the Rain Forest Cafe, we headed over to the pool for an entire afternoon of sun, food and fun. It didn't take her long to get her floaties on and jump in the pool. Our fish.

Taking a small break to eat some crackers.

Our three year old who is goingo n 16. Laying by the pool, eatin' snacks and singing to her ipod.

Chris wrapped up work in the late afternoon and met us down by the pool. They headed over to their favorite spot in the hot tub, the waterfall. Never fails, every time we go, they do this and then slowly every other person at the pool goes into the hot tub and tries it out. Trend setters.

Back floats. All the cool kids do it

Sydney and I decided to take a trip over to Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden the next day. She was all excited to see the dolphins again. This girl gets so giddy over the tram ride.

The Dolphin Habitat at the Secret Garden. Watching the dolphins swim around.

We walked over to the palm-shaded sanctuary to make wishes on the Wishing Tree, see the cheetahs, panthers, leopards and white lions. They were all sleeping or eating. One of the tigers was playing in the water. There were tons of people standing around watching him.

One last look at the dolphins before we headed back on the tram.

It was another amazing trip, just too short! We somehow got really lucky and they gave us a corner suite! A full size kitchen with dishwasher, stove, oven and fridge. A family room, kitchen table, separate bedroom and two full size bathrooms. We would've just moved in if they would've let us. Until next time, Vegas!

Prescott Part 1

We really wanted to head up to the Prescott house one last time before it was sold and we figured it was perfect timing with a work trip Chris had to do in Las Vegas. We headed up to the house on Saturday morning and went into town. One of the MANY cool things about Prescott is that there's always a festival in the downtown area. While we were there it was the Taste of Salsa. They had several bounce houses, a blown up slide, dancers, a band, food and craft stations for the kids.

Syd was really excited to climb up to the top of the slide...only problem was, she froze once she got up there. We had to keep yelling to try and convince her to slide down! But unfortunately we had to send Chris up to the top to go and give her a little nudge.

After a few tries, she got the hang of it and didn't need any pushing. In fact it was hard getting her to stop going on it!

We sat down for a few minutes to watch the dancers

Then it was time to decorate a sombrero. Syd decorated it with all types of flower stickers and hearts. Only problem was finding the letters to her name in the bin. We had to improvise and use two C's to make an S and I cut up the letter M to get an N. But hey, we made it work! They had a cute station for the kids to make beaded necklaces and bracelets.

Ya gotta love when you cut the string into a bracelet and they say "I really wanted a necklace!"

But of course, the candy sand station. She insisted that she fill her tube all by herself.

Sombrero...check. Bracelet (that she wished was a necklace)....check. Crack in a tube....check!

We sat on the stairs to listen to the band play for a few minutes before heading to the house. Sydney can't resist the music. It speaks to her :)

We decided to go on a little walk around the neighborhood. The smell of all the pine trees and the whistling of the wind through the branches is just heaven. Syd wanted to climb every tree she saw.

We'll miss you Timberlane :(

Just to really razz my folks, we took some final shots in front of the "cool house"

Sydders and her mama

Syd insisted that she get to take a picture of us in front of the house. Not too bad for a 3 year old!

It wouldn't be a trip up to the cabin without s'mores

Again.....she simply feels it :)

Prescott and Vegas Bound

Sydney and I decided to tag along with Chris on a work trip to Las Vegas. We broke up the trip by spending the weekend in Prescott. It's the last time we'll be able to stay at the house in the forest because my parents recently sold it in order to purchase a larger house there. We'll miss it!

Our Baby Girl is THREE!

I can hardly believe that it was three years ago that Sydney came into this world. Three years of her making us smile, hearing her adorable laugh, her giving us looks when she doesn't get her way. She truly is our little miracle and our lives are so much better with her in them. A few things about our baby girl....

She insists on getting chocolate milk the instant her eyes open in the morning "I get chocolate milk?" She calls the color yellow "lellow" and it's the cutest thing ever. She loves to wear pretty dresses and is a huge helper around the house. Her favorite snacks are dried strawberries & bananas and craisins with goldfish. She can pedal her bike faster than a 5 year old boy and she has a throwing arm like her daddy. She can count to 20 and can count using "first, second, third" numbering. She's smart as heck and remembers everything we tell her...sometimes she's the one telling us what things are! She loves having her nails painted and gets giddy to see herself in the mirror when I do her hair. She's a love bug and will do anything to get you to smile...even if that means using her little talon tickling fingers. She's a fish and would live in a pool every day if she could. She'd probably go every day without brushing her hair because she hates it. I have to chase her around the house brushing as we run with her screaming. Sydney, Happy Birthday baby girl, we love you!!

Syd's first gift of the day was her Fat Boy Island. She loves this thing! She practices gymnastics on it, watches her movies, squishes it around and even naps on it. She insisted she take her nap on it before her bday party started. My bday girl sawing logs.

The wooden clothespin doll that I had made for Syd by a lady in England to look like her. She added lollipops, balloons, hearts and flowers. All of Syd's favorite things. Syd has been saying for several months she wanted "purple and pink" presents, so this was our theme for her big day!

Aunt Amanda flew in just for Syd's birthday, which totally made her happy. We did a countdown the days before she came. We miss you Manda!

Present time! Syd's first laptop. The girl plays on this thing all day. She can't do any of the games or programs, but she just likes to look like she's "working"

Barbie! Seamus was a huge fan of this gift too.

Getting ready to make her wishes! We had enough cake for everyone to blow out some candles!

Three big candles for her to blow out!

Yummy! Happy Third Birthday Baby Girl!! May all your wishes come true. xoxo
