Disney on Ice

I have to tell you how extremely impressed I was with Disney on Ice. Sydney's eyes were ready to pop out of their sockets! She was so giddy, dancing in her seat and actually saying the lines to some of the movies along with the characters. I'm SOOO happy that we had the chance to take her to see the show, her reaction was priceless.

We got in early to see the museum with all of the Disney Princesses gowns and movie memorabilia. Syd's current favorite Princess is Cinderella!

Staring at Cinderella's gown

Sydney and Seamus looking at Snow White's booth. Seamus is wondering who the heck Snow White is.

Syd and Lala in our seats waiting for the show to begin

Where'd the pretzel go, Sydney??

Not sure what I was thinking. Surely the show can't begin without wearing your Tinkerbell flower hat!

Disney's Cars (Seamus about lost his head with excitement!)

The Little Mermaid

Sydney glued while Lala is trying to stay awake in the background. WAKE UP!

Lion King

Sydney DYING to see Seamus during intermission

Well look who joined the party in our section! Sydney is watching Tinkerbell on stage...VERY EXCITING! I don't think she's breathing.

Sydney Flies a Kite

I decided to take Sydney off to the park to fly a kite. Chris was slightly skeptical on how well she would do. Ye have little faith! Not only did she do great, she was running all around the park with the kite and loving every second of it!!!

I can't figure out for the life of me how to rotate a video. So here's Syd flying her kite....(sideways). If anyone knows, please enlighten me.

Sydney & Seamus

I finally uploaded pics from my "other" camera, so thought I'd catch up on some missing posts. While Jay and Betsy put some sod in their backyard, my parents watched Seamus....that meant that we harassed them several times. The kids just love each other. First we met up at McDonald's. Let me just say that this is also the last time she'll ever go there. Within 24 hours she had a 105 degree fever! ICKY PLAY EQUIPMENT!

The next day we met them out at breakfast. What does one do when there are no bagels or fruit on the menu? The girl eats bacon, bagels or fruit for breakfast. This is seriously payback for something awful I did in a previous life. Thank goodness for balloon magicians! One elephant for Seamus and a zebra for Syd coming up!

Last stop....the park! One would think she would take a massive nap after this morning. She made me stay at the park for two hours and then we went grocery shopping. Got home and only took a 45 minute nap. Chris was in Chicago for a Bears game. GO BEARS!

Water break

Sydney waiting for Seamus to come out of the washroom

My cousin Claire came to town with her husband and son for a visit. Some cute shots of the little ones playing together. Mateo is playing on the floor in the background.

Sydney wondering why Mateo isn't standing in front of the camera as well so that she can take a nice picture.

Buckelew Farms: Pumpkin Picking

This weekend we headed over to Buckelew Farms to do our annual pumpkin picking. Despite being ridiculously hot, where Sydney was overheating with her bright pink cheeks, it was a great time!! This year we had Seamus and Aunt Betsy join us while Uncle Jay was at home with the flu.

Nonnie & Poppie come to visit!

We were lucky enough to have Chris's Parents, Nonnie and Poppie come out to visit and to get to celebrate Nonnie's birthday as well!! It's so much fun having them here and Sydney goes into denial once they leave. She kept telling them "You no go to Airport", although she wasn't willing to let them stay and sleep in her bed. She just knew she didn't want them to leave. The day they left, she refused to get into our car when I picked her up from school. She sat in front of the school staring at the parking lot looking at all the cars for their car. Then she said "Nonnie in car?" because Chris's mom would go with me to pick her up from school. She hesitantly walked up to the car hoping to see her sitting there. Poor girl, she loves her Nonnie and Poppie!

Sydney loooooves singing Happy Birthday to everyone. In fact she'll use her stacking toys and even one of our cat toys as pretend cakes that she walks over to us holding while singing the song. Then, of course, she has us blow out the pretend candles and then it's "My tuwn". She wants to relive her moment of blowing out the birthday candles.

I just thought I'd throw in a little picture to show Sydney's ever changing style. She can work anything!

Syd and her Nonnie. Yes, that's definitely a grass skirt she's wearing. :)

Growing like a weed

I'm not sure when it happened, but suddenly Sydney has grown into the cutest little girl!!! She's not my little baby anymore, other than when she wants to pretend she's a baby and makes me hold her. She's almost completely potty trained and her Nonnie loves it when she sits on the pot and tries to go numero dos and says "my butt's not working." Apparently she loves all the hooplah we give her when she poops on the potty. Yep, she reads books when she's doin' her business. She takes this very seriously :)

Syd loves dresses. Period. She thinks it's fun to come out of her room with a new dress every 20 minutes. It's crazy. She twirls around the room dancing and singing. I LOVE IT!! The more elegant the dress, the better. Not to mention the lipgloss obsession she has. She's constantly applying lipgloss. If she feels she needs more, but realizes she's already put some on, she'll simply wipe it off with her sleeve and reapply. I've resorted to buying her lipgloss of her own. I know that's awful, but she STEALS MINE!! I'll find her at my makeup drawer just applying everything. The mascara was the final draw. She actually got it on one of her eyes pretty well....scary! So now that she has her own, she leaves mine alone. phew!

Still looking cute even with Croup. Yes, CROUP! Poor barking seal baby! Last but not least, last bottom two molars are breaking through. WOOHOOO!!!!!

She's turned into a bit of a camera hog too. Everything she does is followed by "Take my pic-chure mommy?" How can I resist that???
