Let's Go Wildcats!!!

My Dad called us with a surprising question, he wanted to know if we had any interest in two tickets to the University of Arizona vs. UCLA basketball game. HECK YES!! I was all excited planning the day and then after talking to Chris, realized that Syd might really enjoy it. So I booked my spa day that I received as a Christmas present and they headed to the game. Oh my goodness did she have so much fun!! She got a new tshirt, a basketball bead necklace and not to mention that they had front row seats. Yep, not just the front row, but also seated next to where the players come in and out of the locker rooms. Absolutely couldn't have asked for better seats in the house. Now Syd always says "that guy is as tall as a basketball player" whenever she sees someone tall. :) Huge thank you to Papa for the amazing seats and parking pass. Love you! Wildcats won 65-63, but they didn't make it to the end. The crowd got extremely rowdy at the end and Syd was scared by all the screams. Hey, they beat traffic though.

The players getting ready to come out before the game started

Not only were the seats amazing, but right on the floor in front of them was Terry Francona, former manager of the Boston Red Sox.

Uncle Kerry and Aunt Diane Visit

We had a nice visit from Uncle Kerry and Aunt Diane who came in from Seattle. We were fortunate enough to get to see them a few times before they left. Unfortunately Auntie Di was only in for the weekend, so she wasn't able to make it to dinner at our house. We threw together an easy Mexican menu. Everyone laughed, talked, joked and just enjoyed each other's company. Hopefully they come back to visit again soon!

Happy Valentine's Day

As my usual tradition, I stormed into our bedroom where Syd was cuddling with Chris to snap a photo of Syd. Then she always asks me what on earth I'm doing and I get to scream "It's Valentine's Day!!!" and she goes running out to the kitchen to see her presents. I love the "It's so bright mommy!" comment of my flash going off.

She finally got up and ran out to the kitchen to see her presents. She was absolutely in love with the glittery heart :)

It didn't take her very long to dig right in to the presents.

Mmmmm one of mommy's favorites

Nothing she loves more than glittery hair barrettes

She couldn't wait to get home from school to start building things with her new legos. I think Chris was just as excited about this gift as she was!

Lovely cell phone pic to show off her Valentine's Day shirt.

Mommy received a dozen red roses from Daddy and Syd received a dozen pink roses from Daddy. Mom also received the most unbelievable pair of Ugg slippers that will never leave her feet. Dad got a 60 minute massage at a local spa in town. I would like to call this Valentine's Day a huge success. :)

Syd's Valentine's

It was hard trying to decide which Valentine's to make for Syd's school this year. So, I took inspiration from a few places and decided to make some shovel Valentine's. These were so much fun! We put a ton of candy in a bowl and Syd took a shovel and scooped up some candy and we placed them in a clear bag. I made up a bunch of tag's that Said "I really dig you" that Chris cut out for us. We tied them up with some sparkly ribbons and we were all set! She was the hit of the school this year with them.

Valentines 2012

We had them all set for her to take to school in the morning. They were having a big Valentine's Day party. We put together a huge platter of fruit for the class. This made me realize how LARGE her class is!
